Getting Started with Latin takes readers through the basics of Latin very slowly. Only one new word is added in each lesson and the words are repeated and reviewed in every lesson so you don’t forget them. This is a great book to work through together with upper elementary students as the move towards Challenge A and Henle Latin. This book is a gentle introduction to how Latin works that will calm even the most anxious new Latin student.
Cycle 2 Connection: Cycle 2 focuses on verb endings. Although Getting started with Latin sticks with present tense, seeing those present tense endings in use will give students an idea of how ALL the different endings will be used eventually.
